Karamea Farm Baches (formerly Karamea Motels)
If you're looking for comfortable accommodation in Karamea, look no further. We are run by friendly, dedicated staff whose aim is to ensure that your stay makes you want to come back for more. We are located 150m from the historic Karamea Village Hotel with it's multi-award winning West Coast cuisine and fine beverages.
Karamea is located on the sub-tropical far north west coast, a small community isolated from the rest of New Zealand by the mountains of Kahurangi National Park, the only road connection being the spectacular scenic drive over Karamea Bluff from Westport.
Karamea is the start (or finish!) of several popular tramping/hiking trails in the mountains and forests of the Kahurangi, such as the Heaphy Track, Wangapeka and Leslie-Karamea tracks.
Spectacular mountain and coastal scenery and recent improvements in access to the internationally significant Oparara Basin draw an increasing number of visitors to the area, as does the relaxed atmosphere and sub-tropical micro-climate, making Karamea the perfect place to get away from the crowds and have a real West Coast adventure.
